Y/n stepped off the train. The cool September air hit hard, carrying the familiar scent of the Forbidden Forest and something colder beneath it.

Ahead, a crowd was already gathering outside the Great Hall. Students pushed and craned their necks. The marble wall had been plastered with a massive banner, fresh ink still glistening.

It read, in bold letters: HOGWARTS NOW HAS MIXED HOUSE DORMS!

Under it, dozens of names in neat rows. Dorm numbers, grouped in fours.

The buzz was immediate. Excited, furious, confused.

Draco Malfoy shoved through the crowd first, elbows out, hair immaculate despite the journey. He reached the list, grey eyes scanning frantically.

Then they stopped. Narrowed.

He was staring at a particular line:

Dorm 406: Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Theodore Nott, Ron Weasley.
