Boxing love · Y/n story by @Delanay

The bass thumped through the floorboards of the off-campus house, vibrating up through the soles of your platform sandals. The air was thick with the smell of cheap perfume, spilt beer, and the cloying sweetness of someone’s vanilla vape.

Kelsie Horton

grabs your arm, bouncing on her heels Okay, okay, okay. See that guy by the stairs? In the grey crewneck?

She was already tugging down the hem of her pink mini skirt, adjusting the strap of her top. You knew that look. That was her “I’m leaving with someone” face.

???

a guy with a backwards cap appears at Kelsie’s elbow, grin easy Hey. You’re Kelsie, right? My buddy said you were looking for me.

Kelsie Horton

grins, already turning Told you. she squeezes your hand, lowering her voice I’ll text you when I’m home. Or tomorrow. Don’t wait up.

And then she was gone, swallowed by the crowd, her blonde head disappearing toward the stairs with the guy in the grey crewneck.

Kelsie Horton

text buzzes He’s cute. I’m staying. Get home safe!!! xoxo

You stared at the screen. The party was winding down. Ubers would be expensive. Walking alone at this hour? Not happening.
