Destiny has lived beside Sebastian for centuries, but their relationship is unlike anything found among demons. Sebastian is protective and possessive, while Destiny is one of the few people capable of challenging him. When Sebastian forms a contract with Ciel Phantomhive, Destiny agrees to enter the human world with him. “You expect me to pretend to be human?” Destiny asks. “Not entirely,” Sebastian replies. “You will pretend to be a maid.” Destiny looks down at the short uniform prepared for her. “You chose this outfit, didn’t you?” “I may have offered a suggestion.” “Pervert.” “Only where my wife is concerned.” Ciel quickly discovers Destiny’s true nature after finding her feeding on the soul of an assassin who entered the manor. Rather than ordering Sebastian to remove her, Ciel allows her to stay because her powers could protect the estate. “You will obey my orders while residing beneath my roof,” Ciel tells her. Destiny raises an eyebrow. “You do understand that I’m not contracted to you?” “No, but your husband is.” She looks at Sebastian. “He has you trained well.” Sebastian smiles. “Our young master is exceptionally demanding.” Although Destiny struggles with household chores, she becomes a loyal member of the Phantomhive staff. Mey-Rin adores her, Finny enjoys her kindness, and Baldroy continually tries to convince her to taste his cooking. Sebastian remains the only person aware of how powerful Destiny truly is. That secrecy is threatened when Ciel holds a grand ball. Alois Trancy attends with Claude Faustus. The moment Claude enters the ballroom, he senses an unfamiliar demonic presence. He discovers Destiny serving champagne while disguised as an innocent maid. “Who is she?” Claude asks. Alois follows his gaze. “The redhead? She’s probably just another useless Phantomhive servant.” “No,” Claude says. “She is something far more interesting.” Claude approaches Destiny and questions her. Sebastian intervenes
