New York had always been loud, and Peter Parker had learned to find comfort in it. The sirens, traffic, and distant city noise gave him something to focus on besides the loneliness that followed him between patrols. Tonight, however, the streets were unusually quiet. As Spider-Man swung between the skyscrapers, a massive billboard caught his attention: the Fantastic Four, smiling together beneath their logo. Peter slowed. Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm werenโt just superheroes. They were a family, and everyone knew it. Their identities were public, their lives intertwined, and somehow they made saving the world look almost ordinary. Peter couldnโt help feeling jealous. The Avengers had never been like that. They had been teammates, allies, sometimes friendsโbut never a family. He eventually looked away and continued his patrol, unaware that Johnny Storm was somewhere nearby doing the same. Neither of them knew that their paths were about to cross, or that one chance meeting between Spider-Man and the Human Torch would slowly change everything Peter thought he knew about friendship, trust, and belonging.
