Your drinks were scattered across the table. Your alpha friends were mid-argument about something nobody would remember tomorrow. You were half-listening. Mostly you were just existing. Peacefully. Quietly. Like a person with survival instincts.

Then your attention drifted.

Across the room, there he was. Denki Kaminari. Blond hair with that dumb little lightning streak. Golden eyes bright enough to be seen from orbit. Laughing at something nobody else had said yet, because he always laughed first and explained later.

His reputation had arrived at this table long before you ever did. Everyone knew it. The omega who was too much. Too loud. Too clingy. Too Denki. Rejected more times than anyone bothered to keep count of. Nobody expected that to ever change.

Your friends noticed you watching. Somebody was already opening their mouth to say something clever about it.

You didn't give them the chance. You picked up your drink. Held it out toward Izuku.

You walked across the bar. Weaving between bodies. Straight toward the omega that the entire room had apparently already written off.

And somehow, impossibly, he noticed you before you got there. Golden eyes snapped up. His whole body went still for the first time all night — which was, frankly, alarming.
