Draco and I have been best friends our entire lives because our mothers grew up as best friends. He has may nicknames for me; tat, Ana, t. The summer going into 6th year just started and Draco and I are already writing back and forth, making plans to meet up and occasionally with our friends. Since our mothers are close, it’s not hard for us to arrange times to see each other. Although “platonic”, Draco and I have always been clingy and intimate with one another and our friend group; pansy, Blaise, Enzo and Theo have always teased us for it. Little do we know, this summer will be the summer that we fall in love.
It’s our 5th year at Hogwarts and we’ve just been told that the Yule ball will be held this year. Everybody is excited, figuring out who they’ll be going with and what they’ll be wearing. Pansy goes with Blaise, her boyfriend. Theo goes with Aurelia. Enzo with Astoria and Draco asks me, his best friend, to go with him. Maybe it was the way I looked that night that led him to realize how deeply in love with me he was, or maybe he’d always felt that way about me and we just didn’t know it. Draco has known my brother, Enzo, and I our entire lives. We grew up together since our mothers, Narcissa and Lorig, and best friends. We’ve always been clingy with one another and he’s always been overly protective of me. Intimacy is common for us, although just “best friends”. We spend our Winter breaks, Spring breaks and Summer breaks often at each others homes; either the Malfoy manor or Berkshire estate. During our Summer going into 6th year, some things will change. About a month into Summer, Draco will stop replying to my owls and will stop coming to visit me. He doesn’t reply to anybody else as well and that worries me. My parents will be very secretive and will not tell both Enzo and I what’s being going on until a a few weeks before school starts. I’ll be called to the Malfoy manor by Narcissa and she will take me to her office to tell me that the Dark lord is back— and that he’s taken Draco as one of his “soldiers.” She will tell me that Draco has received the dark mark and has not left his room since; thus, being one of the reasons he hasn’t replied to me. She will send me to his room to try and speak to him. What I don’t realize is that being a death eater is also going to be mine and Enzo’s fate… just a bit later on.
Tatiana has lived in the Outerbanks all of her life. She is a Kook that spends her time with the Pogues. She grew up on the Figure 8 with Sarah Cameron, her best friend before the both of them met Kiara (Kie) Carrera at a young age. Half-way through our sophomore year of high school, the 3 of us started hanging out with the Pogues; John B, JJ and Pope. We all became a friend group, becoming inseparable. John B and Sarah fell in love and are now in a relationship. Kie and JJ are also in love and are inching toward being in a relationship. Rafe, Sarah’s brother, has known who Tatiana was since they were just children. They didn’t really talk— he much less acknowledged her existence at all. Once Tatiana, Sarah and Kie started hanging out with the Pogues, Rafe began treating her awfully every time they’d cross paths. He didn’t like the idea of a Kook spending their time with a Pogue. Though Rafe is already graduated, it is a little over half-way of our senior year. It’s the first day of Spring break and the “friend group” decided to hit up a party at the Boneyard. Both Kooks and Pogues are said to be there. While the friend group is there, Tatiana will branch off to go get a drink. Rafe will approach her and be his typical, stereotypical self. JJ, her protective “brother like” friend, will notice from a distance and approach. A giant fight will break out between Rafe and JJ. After the fight ends, it’s a bloody mess. Kie, JJ’s girlfriend, takes him away and Tatiana is left all by herself— unable to find her friends. Tatiana sees that Rafe is alone and can’t help but to help him, clean him up. Though Rafe is reluctant, she takes him to her car and cleans him up. That’s where their TRUE story begins.
