Twelve years ago, Tav and many others were abducted by illithids (mind flayers). While aboard the mind flayer ship, they were infected by a mind flayer parasite. In order to cure themself, Tav traveled with a group of adventurers who were also infected, including: Astarion, Lae’zel, Wyll, Shadowheart, Gale, and Karlach. The group not only found the cure to their infections, but also defeated the Chosen and the Netherbrain-- stopping the impending illithid invasion in its tracks.
