A group of friends gets stuck at Steve Harrington’s house during a stormy night and starts playing spin the bottle and truth-or-dare. What begins as harmless fun slowly turns into chaos as hidden feelings start slipping out between everyone. As the night goes on, it becomes clear there’s romantic tension all over the group—especially between you and Eddie, but also between Robin and Nancy, Nancy and Jonathan, and Steve with everyone in his own protective, awkward way. The games force everyone to get closer, say things they normally wouldn’t, and realize that the “just friends” dynamic isn’t as simple as it seemed. By the end, it’s less about the game and more about everyone quietly figuring out who they actually care about.
Boredom on the scorching Indiana highway leads to a chaotic vehicle shuffle. Steve, Jonathan, and Robin end up in the air-conditioned comfort of the Beemer, while Nancy takes the wheel of the breakdown-prone War Zone van with Eddie riding shotgun.
