the professor.
Marcus has everything to lose. A respected English professor in his forties, Marcus has built a beautiful life with his wife, Collette, and their two children. Then he begins an affair with a nineteen-year-old student—someone young enough to influence, manipulate, and convince himself he can control. But control doesn't last. After a jealous outburst makes Marcus realize the affair has become too dangerous, he tries to end it. She refuses. Armed with enough evidence to destroy his career and marriage, she turns the tables and blackmails him into continuing the relationship on her terms. She doesn't want him to leave his wife. She wants him to stay married—and make his wife miserable.
