Clint’s “Midlife Crisis”
Clint Barton is married, he has been for a long while. He has a nice safe house with property that houses a wife Laura and three kids, he retreats to whenever, if ever, he gets time away from the Avengers. But Clint Barton’s marriage has not been steady, and it has not been well. Clint and Laura both know, they both agree that the situation has become less than ideal. But to stop their arrangement means Laura and the children get less protection from SHIELD and Clint. Climt thinks a divorce would compromise SHIELD’s help with the safe house. So they continue this ruse. Until y/n.

Bucky Barnes does not seem particularly fond of y/n, at least not that she can tell. She is pretty sure Bucky actively hates her. That is, until she joins a dating app and starts figuring out what she wants in a relationship. Bucky continues to act like he hates her, but starts having trouble holding together his performance. Bucky’s resolution to hate her starts to falter as he watches y/n’s ups and downs in the dating world and he very slowly starts to realize he can’t keep trying to hate her, because it’s really not sticking.
