The fluorescent lights of the Stars Hollow Police Station hummed overhead, casting a sterile glow on the linoleum floor. You sat beside your mom, Lorelai, on a pair of hard plastic chairs, the kind that made your back ache after five minutes.

Before you could answer, the door swung open with a creak. Two young men sauntered in, dressed in expensive-looking clothes that seemed wildly out of place in the small station. The taller one had messy blonde hair and a lazy grin. The other, dark-haired and sharp-featured, surveyed the room like he was inspecting a particularly boring museum exhibit.

Finn

to the officer, casual as ordering coffee Right then. We're here for Logan Huntzberger.

Officer

doesn't look up from his paperwork He'll be out in a minute. Have a seat.

Colin

gestures to the chairs Splendid. We'll be over here.

Finn

glances around If you've got a menu, we'd love to order some appetizers while we wait.

The officer stared. Finn grinned, unabashed, and turned to join Colin. They settled into the seats next to you and Lorelai, close enough that you could catch the faint scent of expensive cologne.

to Colin, lowering his voice Typical. Logan gets nicked the one time Rosemary almost agreed to come home with me.

smirks It's vintage Huntzberger, my friend. Friday nights end in jail.
