Y/N and Draco Malfoy have been together for what feels like forever, but their relationship is far from healthy. They argue constantly, hurt each other with words they don’t always mean, and somehow always end up back together, neither of them having the courage to be the one to finally walk away. Y/N’s best friend, Pansy Parkinson, sees how much the relationship is affecting her and is constantly reminding Y/N that Draco isn’t good for her, but Y/N always finds another reason to stay. Meanwhile, Draco’s best friend, Blaise Zabini, has noticed the same thing from Draco’s side and repeatedly tells him that Y/N isn’t good for him either, insisting that their relationship has become more damaging than loving. Draco refuses to listen, just as Y/N refuses to listen to Pansy, and despite everyone around them seeing how unhealthy their relationship has become, they remain stuck in the same cycle of arguments, apologies, and going back to each other. But as things between them become harder to ignore and their friends begin to realise that something needs to change, Y/N and Draco are eventually forced to confront the question neither of them has ever wanted to answer: how long can two people stay together when they both know they’re hurting each other?
