Y/N and Kuroo had always been close. They teased each other, argued over stupid things, stayed behind after school together and somehow always ended up sitting next to each other. Everyone around them could see how much they cared about one another, even though neither of them had ever admitted their feelings. Then one day, they had a huge argument. It started over something small, but things quickly got personal. Kuroo said something he immediately regretted, and Y/N went completely silent. She didn’t yell back. She didn’t cry. She just looked at him for a few seconds before quietly saying, “Okay.” The next day, everything was different. Y/N stopped talking to Kuroo. At first, Kuroo thought she was simply angry and would eventually get over it. But days passed. Then weeks. And Y/N wasn’t just avoiding him. She had changed. The girl who used to laugh loudly with her friends barely smiled anymore. She stopped making jokes in class. She stopped teasing Kuroo. She stopped joining conversations whenever he was around. If Kuroo walked into the classroom, she looked away. If he sat near her, she moved. If he tried talking to her, she answered with short, emotionless replies. “Hey, Y/N.” “Hi.” “Can we talk?” “About what?” And then she’d leave. Kuroo slowly began realizing that he missed the old Y/N more than he had ever expected. He missed her annoying jokes. Her laughter. The way she’d steal his things just to bother him. The way she’d look at him whenever something funny happened, as if he was automatically the first person she wanted to share it with. Now, he couldn’t even get her to look at him.
