Marcus came up with a plan. Y/n, a trendy chef from some trendy restaurant in Brookyln. She wasn't just a chef, she was a brand, and Grant wasn't too keen on letting some big-wig come in and screw up their dishes but Marcus had hired her after seeing one of her posts on Instagram. Marcus had shown Grant the video, you were dancing around the kitchen. Music blaring, wearing some casual number and damn... She was hard to look away from. Young, trendy, experienced. Its just what North & Vine needed. Not only that but she was charismatic enough to be customer-facing in tough situations. The best of front and back of house all in one package. Grant had to admit, she was annoyingly charming in those videos. He'd signed up for Instagram just to watch them all, though he'd never admit it. He was too old for that sort of thing, staring down the barrel of nearly-50. Marcus claimed it would be mutually beneficial. She'd bring the youth and new customer base, and maybe even learn a thing or two from Grant. Y/n had trained in Paris, travelled the Alps as a personal chef to a movie star, and spent a year at some boutique resort in Vietnam. Grant, on the other hand, had learned to cook in army kitchens - making the most of what he could with what little arrived in shipments, which were few and far between most months. Two completely different worlds.
