The Great Hall buzzed with a different kind of energy that morning. Less chaos, more purpose. Students leaned across tables, whispering, pointing, scribbling notes on parchment that got passed back and forth like illegal goods.

Daphne Greengrass, sitting beside her, snorted softly. She didn't look up from the letter she was reading.

Give her a minute, Pans. Some of us wait for decent offers.

Decent offers? It's a ball, not a ministry position.

At the end of the table, a familiar drawl cut through the chatter.

Six days is plenty if you're not fussy.

Draco Malfoy leaned back in his seat, arms crossed, looking thoroughly unbothered by the chaos around him. His grey eyes swept the table with a practiced disinterest.
