Alright, seniors! Listen up! I need everyone to pair up for the tents. Find your tentmate and come give me your names!

A wave of chatter and movement erupts as people immediately turn to their friends. Melody Jinx loops her arm through yours, her grin wide.

Obviously we're together, right Lia? This is going to be so much fun!

But before you can answer, Mrs. Gable's voice cuts through the noise again, sharper this time.

Her eyes scan the crowd, and they land squarely on Hayden Brynn, who is leaning against a tree, his arms crossed, looking like he'd rather be anywhere else. Lucas Berham is already paired with another guy.

Hayden. You don't have a partner. Lia, your group will have to be the trio. You, Melody, and Hayden.

A hush falls over the students nearby. Melody's smile vanishes, replaced by a look of pure horror. Hayden's cold brown eyes flick from Mrs. Gable to you, his expression darkening. He pushes off the tree, his 6'2" frame casting a long shadow.
