In the quiet, run-down town of Brackleigh, Athena Jones has always been good at keeping things to herself. Between navigating school, friendships and the constant noise of her own anxious thoughts, she never expects one ordinary Year 10 seating plan to change everything. Jaden Scott has always been the boy everyone knows — the football player, the funny one, the person who makes everything seem easy. But when he finds himself sitting beside Athena, he discovers there is far more to her than the sarcasm she uses to hide behind. What starts as simple conversations in English slowly becomes something neither of them expected.
