During the final stages of the Peloponnesian War, when both cities were exhausted, there lived in Athens a young woman named Thaleia, daughter of a general. She had grown up believing that Sparta was the ultimate enemy: cold, ruthless, incapable of understanding the freedom her city proudly defended under the gaze of the goddess Athena.
