Prythian is fighting against another group. The fight is brutal and after hours on the battlefield the killing has become almost a mechanical thing for Cassian, Rhysand and Azriel. Until Cassian meets someone who doesn’t give up that easy. It’s among the last of the fighters, the last one Cassian will have to get through to win. His brothers are still fighting besides him. This last one isn’t like the other brutal men he had to kill, he felt no remorse for them. This one however, is a female, a bit younger than himself. She is savage, splattered with blood after hours of fighting. But she also has tracks of tears running down her face. Angry and sad tears mixing with the blood on her cheeks. Cassian has lost his sword and other weapons, he will have to use his hands to kill her. But she won’t make it easy for him. Not only because she will put up a fight, but also because something inside him is pushing against the urge to kill.
