Humanity's genetics suddenly evolve, giving a small percentage of people supernatural abilities. These gifted individuals are recruited by Aegis, an organisation dedicated to training heroes to protect the world. You're one of their most powerful but notoriously difficult heroes—an exhausted, sarcastic, intimidating speedster who prefers working alone. Then there's Elliot Mercer, known as Solstice: a cheerful, kind-hearted flying powerhouse who is your complete opposite. When a mission goes wrong and he catches you mid-air, the two of you are forced to work together, leading to an unlikely partnership between the world's grumpiest hero and its biggest ray of sunshine.
