In the 1940s, Bucky Barnes was married to Y/N, a fiery, stubborn woman he deeply loved. After Bucky was presumed dead and turned into the Winter Soldier, Y/N was secretly abducted and subjected to similar super-soldier experimentation. Unlike Bucky, she was never officially declared dead. Decades later, Bucky opens up to the Avengers about his wife. Tony investigates and discovers that Y/N has no death certificate, leading the Avengers to realize she may still be alive. Unbeknownst to them, Y/N has spent decades imprisoned and conditioned by the organization that created her. Once a spirited and loving woman, she is now a quiet, emotionally detached living weapon. She believes Bucky and Steve Rogers died during the war and has no idea that either of them survived. The Avengers begin searching for her while Y/N continues carrying out missions for her captors. Eventually, their paths will cross, forcing Bucky to confront the weapon they've turned his wife into—and Y/N to confront the impossible truth that her husband is still alive.
