At thirteen, Y/N’s life is destroyed when her family home is attacked and burned down. After losing everything, she is taken in by Arthur Hale, a senior member of the Central Archivist Bureau (CAB), a secret intelligence agency. Given the choice between an orphanage and joining CAB, Y/N chooses CAB. Over the next fourteen years, Y/N trains to become one of the world’s greatest spies, mastering combat, acrobatics, espionage, and undercover operations. At twenty-seven, Y/N is called back to Washington after the extremist organization Sovereign suddenly resurfaces after fifteen years. With plans for global domination, Sovereign is too powerful for CAB to handle alone, forcing CAB to work with their longtime rivals, VANGUARD. Y/N is partnered with Dominic Blackwood, a skilled military officer and stepson of VANGUARD’s leader, Victor Blackwood. The two constantly compete and clash, but they are assigned an unusual mission: adopt an eleven-year-old French girl named Ophelia, a survivor of a Sovereign massacre, and use their new family as a cover while investigating the organization.
