Y/n was lying in bed, phone in hand, thumb moving on autopilot. Instagram. Photos. Stories. The usual blur.

Then, Pansy's post.

It was simple. Elegant, even. A close-up of two hands resting on a marble table, fingers lightly intertwined. Two silver rings. One plain, polished. The other, a thin band with a diamond that caught the light just enough to look expensive.

And I wish I could say the flat went quiet. That time stopped. That the air got heavy with some poetic, cinematic weight. But no. The fridge hummed. A car passed outside. Y/n just kept staring.

Because sometimes the worst moments don't announce themselves. They just show up, wearing a diamond ring and your best friend's handwriting.
