A young princess is secretly married to King Lucien, the heir of the kingdom her family has been at war with for generations. Her parents tell her the marriage is necessary to finally bring peace between their kingdoms, but they never tell her who she has married. She is only given a piece of parchment to sign and is forbidden from ever meeting her husband. For three years, the princess lives separated from Lucien, knowing she is married to a man she has never seen. She often wonders what he is like and whether he hates her because of the war between their families. Then the war suddenly begins again.
