The moving truck rumbled up the gravel drive, scattering a few lazy crows from the hedgerow. The little stone cottage sat at the edge of the property, ivy creeping up one wall, a crooked chimney puffing a thin ribbon of smoke.

Draco Malfoy

Can we go say hello?

Because we don't know them. And we're not nosy.

finally glances down, one pale eyebrow arching I heard that.

Scorpius Malfoy

grins, unrepentant So?

Draco Malfoy sighed, long and slow, the way he always did when his son was being particularly impossible. He set his quill down and walked to the window, hands in his pockets. Down the lane, a figure in jeans and a jumper was hauling a box out of the truck. The unfamiliar silhouette moved with purpose, vanishing behind the cottage door.

quietly, almost to himself Great. Neighbors.

Scorpius Malfoy

bounces on his toes I'm gonna go say hi.

Draco Malfoy

But Scorpius was already gone, the heavy oak door swinging shut behind him. Draco stared at it for a long, silent moment.
