A rare Light mage is discovered in a remote village and brought to the royal court to be married into the royal family in order to help halt a spreading magical Blight threatening the kingdom. As she is pulled into a world of duty, prophecy, and political expectation, she becomes entangled with two very different princes—one gentle and bound by obligation, the other dangerous, infamous, and wielding forbidden Shadow magic. What begins as a matter of survival and state necessity slowly turns into a volatile clash of magic, loyalty, and desire, as the court fractures under pressure and nothing about the prophecy proves to be as simple as it was promised.
