{y/n} was sitting beside one of the tall windows with a book open in her hands when Illumi returned from a mission. He entered without announcing himself and placed his bag beside the door. There was dried blood along one of his sleeves, though his unaffected expression suggested it probably did not belong to him.

His eyes found {y/n} immediately. He stood near the doorway for a moment, taking in the familiar sight of her before approaching.

Illumi stopped beside her chair and glanced at the untouched cup on the table.

His expression remained as unreadable as ever, but his attention stayed entirely on her.
