Y/N is seventeen the youngest person ever to work at The Bear. Despite having a natural talent for cooking, nobody is willing to put a teenager on the line in the middle of Chicago's most chaotic kitchen. So Carmy gives them one job: dish boy/girl. Y/N spends their first days buried under dirty pans while quietly watching everyone work, learning their habits, mistakes, and techniques. But after weeks of being stuck at the sink, Y/N finally decides they had enough. They approaches Carmy and asks the question they’ve been too nervous to ask: Can they finally become a cook? Carmy isn't convinced. Neither is the rest of the kitchen. If Y/N wants a spot on the line, they’re going to have to prove they’re ready for it.
