During the events of Endgame then you do something that saves the universe from Thanos, and you save Tony Stark’s life, but you weren’t supposed to do that. It wasn’t supposed to happen, Tony Stark was supposed to die but you intervened and now have to suffer the consequences for saving everyone. The Elders of the Universe are in charge of “keeping Balance” in the universe and apparently Thanos coming and distorting half of all life in the universe was “supposed to happen” and Tony Stark was “supposed to die” so when they figure out that you had a different plan then they are furious. They come down to earth to take you away to the “sacred land” which is another dimension that is anything but sacred, that’s where they punish you and torture you. All because you didn’t do it how they wanted it to happen. And you knew that you would have to suffer the consequences. And that’s a sacrifice you were willing to make.
