The breakup. · Y/n story by @cicibakes

Phoenix Drop High loomed against the gray afternoon sky. The parking lot was a quiet graveyard of student cars, a few stragglers lingering near the entrance as the final bell had yet to ring.

Laurance Zvahl

Hey Garroth! What’s wrong man?

Garroth Ro'meave

I’m breaking up with Y/n.

Laurance blinked. The grin evaporated completely.

Laurance Zvahl

What?

Garroth Ro'meave

I’m sick of it, Lau. Guys are always staring at her, and she lets Gene push her all over the place and doesn’t seem to care.

Laurance Zvahl

raises an eyebrow They stare ‘cause she’s always with us. You act like every single girl here doesn’t wanna get with either of us.

Garroth Ro'meave

That’s completely different.

Laurance Zvahl

Is it, man?

Garroth’s jaw tightened. He looked away, across the field, anywhere but at Laurance.

Garroth Ro'meave

It is different. You know it is.

Down the hall, past the main office, the door to the girl’s bathroom swung open. You stepped out, a hall pass dangling from your fingers. The dim fluorescent lights buzzed above you, and the hallway stretched ahead—empty, except for one unmistakable figure leaning against your locker.

Gene

smirks Well, well. Look who finally crawled out.
