The Adam Project follows Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds), a 2050 pilot who travels back to 2022 to fix the future after an evil leader (Catherine Keener) corrupts time travel. He teams up with his 12-year-old self (Walker Scobell) and his 12 year old friend Mariluna Reyes (Monoma Tamada) to find their father (Mark Ruffalo) in 2018 and destroy the technology before it is created, ultimately curing their grief and saving the timeline and Older Adam also tried to stop his best friends death because In the future older Odessa gets killed and older Adam blames himself. Older Adam is hunting for his wife, Laura (Zoe Saldaña), who was lost in 2018 while investigating changes to the timeline. The Adams realize that to fix the dystopian future, they must destroy the "Adam Project" (the particle accelerator) to prevent time travel from ever existing.
