Y/N was doing perfectly fine. At least, that was the story she’d been telling everyone for the past two weeks. “Stop staring,” Pansy muttered beside her. “I’m not staring.” “You’ve been looking at the same spot for thirty seconds.” Unfortunately, that spot happened to be across the Great Hall, where Tristan Lestrange sat beside Daphne Greengrass. Daphne leaned closer to say something. Tristan smiled. Y/N immediately looked down at her breakfast. “I literally couldn’t care less.” Pansy slowly raised an eyebrow. Before she could answer, something orange rolled across the Slytherin table and stopped beside Y/N’s hand. A tiny paper firework. Y/N frowned and picked it up. Across the Great Hall, Fred Weasley was already watching her. He grinned. The firework unfolded itself in her palm. “You look like you’re plotting a murder. Need an accomplice?” Y/N stared at the message. Then, despite herself, she laughed. And for the first time that morning, she completely forgot to look at Tristan. *inspired by, “that’s so true” by Gracie Abrams”*
