The Crystal Gems discover a strange Gem signal coming from a forgotten part of Earth that was hidden for thousands of years. When they investigate, they find an old Gem creation chamber buried deep underground with a newly emerged Gem inside. Unlike other Gems, this one was never given a purpose by Homeworld and has no idea what they were made for. Steven and the Crystal Gems try to help the new Gem understand Earth, emotions, and freedom while the Gem struggles with questions about their identity and why they were created.
