Hawkins was supposed to be done with monsters. Vecna was gone. The Upside Down was quiet. At least, that’s what everyone wanted to believe. But when strange occurrences begin appearing around town again, Dustin becomes convinced that something has started moving beneath Hawkins all over again. And this time, the answers might not be hidden in a secret laboratory or somewhere underground. They might be sitting on the shelves of the Hawkins Public Library. As the library’s newest employee, Y/N has access to decades of newspapers, town records, photographs, maps, and forgotten documents. Before long, the library becomes the group’s unofficial headquarters, with Dustin spending hours digging through old archives while Y/N helps him piece together connections nobody else has noticed. Steve is around constantly, too. Not because he’s part of the research team—at least, that’s what he claims. He’s there because Y/N is his girlfriend, and lately, he’s noticed that something about her isn’t right. Y/N has started losing track of time. She’ll stare at the same page for minutes without realizing it. She’ll recognize places she’s never visited. Sometimes, she’ll hear a voice when the library is completely empty. Then, one night, Steve arrives to pick her up. He finds her standing alone between the shelves, completely frozen. The library is silent. The lights are flickering. And Y/N isn’t responding to him. For the first time, Steve realizes that whatever is happening in Hawkins isn’t happening around them anymore. It’s happening to her. When Dustin discovers that the information Y/N has been unknowingly uncovering matches details from her visions, the group begins investigating a terrifying possibility: Vecna may have left something behind. Something that has been waiting for the right person to find it. And somehow, Y/N has become part of it. Now the library isn’t just where they go to search for answers. It’s where the answers have been waiting for them.
