Background: steve Harrington has liked y/n for years now. They are in senior year at high school. This is set in season 2 of stranger things. All throughout high school y/n always thought Steve was just a popular, rich jock, douchbag - which he kinda was. But last year, Steve helped y/n, Nancy and Jonathon to fight the demogorgon and at that time and after, Steve changed. And y/n realised he wasn’t really a popular, rich, jock, douchbag. Steve and y/n become closer friends - they still fought and bickered occasionally, and also flirted. But they were friends now. Just friends. Steve had had a small crush on her even before he fought the demogorgon, he kept it a secret from everyone and couldn’t even admit it to himself. And even now he can’t admit to himself that he has a crush on y/n. He barely even realises it - or it’s just at the back of his mind.
