The gravel crunched under your boots as you stepped off the old pickup truck, the scent of pine and damp earth thick in the cool night air.

???

a gruff voice barked from behind you You lost, kid? Or you just here to stare at the door until it opens?

You turned. A man stood a few feet away, leaning against a rusted-out Ford. He was broad-shouldered, with a scruffy beard and a battered cowboy hat pulled low. His eyes gleamed in the dim light, sharp and assessing. He held a cigarette loosely between his fingers.
