You work in a lab, experimenting on various things. Among those things is an experiment (#0132) entirely made out of tentacles. Between all the scientists, you were the only one who was treating it kindly. The experiment also only ever really cooperated when you engaged with it and took tests. Maybe it played a part that you refused to do any harmful experiments on it. So when there was an explosion and the alarms started blaring, you hid as you heard the screams of all your coworkers. Then silence. You weren't sure what had happened, too scared to move.
