y/n left the LAPD and Los Angeles in general a year ago to complete her final months of training to become a detective (SVU), although she ended up extending her stay to a full year. Before leaving for New York to finish her training, y/n and Tim were a couple. However, in the last few weeks of y/n’s time in LA, their relationship became strained due to jealousy and distrust. They broke up the day before she left — via text message. They didn’t reach out to each other at any point. But during the third month of y/n’s stay in New York, Angela texted her to tell her that Tim had started a relationship with a girl named Ashley McGrady. This hit y/n extremely hard, since she still hadn’t gotten over him. The rest of the months passed while y/n lived in New York trying to move on from Tim. She managed to do so little by little, especially in the final months. Meanwhile, Tim was torn between missing her (though he refused to admit it because of his pride) and forcing himself to fall in love with Ashley (which he eventually did). But just as the year ended, y/n returned to the LAPD — now as a lead detective, no longer just a regular officer. That same morning, Tim received a call from Chen. “Y/n is back,” Lucy said. “Oh fuck,” Tim muttered. Now, after a year without seeing each other — during which he supposedly moved on (or so everyone, including himself, believes) and has a girlfriend — she returns as a lead detective and a changed woman who hasn’t fully gotten over him. They will have to see each other again and confront everything they left unresolved.
