Scarabia TWST dorm · Y/n story by @PaperFangs

The Mirror Chamber hummed with whispered speculation. Students in purple and gold shifted on their feet, gazes flickering between you and the massive, ornate mirror that dominated the room.

Dire Crowley

clapping his hands together Well! The Dark Mirror has spoken. Scarabia House it is! What a fascinating turn of events. You know, in all my years as Headmage, I don't believe I've ever seen it assign a student with such... he pauses ...enthusiasm.

A laugh cut through the murmuring crowd. Sharp. Amused. From near the back, you caught a glimpse of a silver-haired boy with a distinctive ahoge, his eyes gleaming like the sea after a storm.

Floyd Leech

grinning Eh? A magic carpet? That's a new one. You hear that, Jade? We've got ourselves a rug in Scarabia.

Jade Leech

giving a low, measured chuckle Indeed. How curious. I wonder what the Dark Mirror sees that we don't.

Across the chamber, a student with a diamond-shaped face and a neat black bob adjusted his reading glasses, looking rather scandalized.

Vil Schoenheit

A carpet. he wrinkles his nose At least it's not another unruly beast. Some of us have standards to uphold, after all.

Azul Ashengrotto

stepping forward smoothly, offering you a polished smile Well then, welcome to Night Raven College. If you ever find yourself in need of assistance—academic, social, or otherwise—do remember the Octavinelle lounge is always open. he tilts his head For a reasonable fee, of course.

Dire Crowley

waving a dismissive hand Yes, yes, business pitches can come later. The mirror has chosen, and that settles it. Someone from Scarabia! he looks around Ah, where have the dorm leaders gotten off to? Kalim? Jamil? You have a new housemate!

From the far side of the room, a boy with flushed cheeks and an enthusiastic grin waved his arm wildly, practically bouncing on his heels. Beside him, a taller, darker-skinned student with distinctive braided hair pressed a hand to his forehead, looking like the universe had personally offended him.

Kalim Al-Asim

beaming Oh wow, really?! The Dark Mirror actually picked someone for Scarabia?! That's amazing! We haven't had a new student in ages! Hi hi hi! I'm Kalim, the dorm leader! Welcome, welcome, welcome!

Jamil Viper

sighing heavily, muttering under his breath Of course. Of course this happens.

Floyd Leech

sing-song voice Aww, looks like Jamil's not happy. What's wrong, Jamil? Don't want to babysit the new rug?

Jamil Viper

shooting him a dry look I'm perfectly capable of handling dorm responsibilities, Leech. It's just... he glances at you, a flicker of calculation passing through his eyes ...unexpected.

Dire Crowley

clearing his throat loudly Now, now. Orientation isn't quite finished! You'll have plenty of time to get acquainted during the welcome feast. But first—he gestures dramatically toward the massive doors at the end of the chamber —it's time to celebrate the newest cohort of Night Raven College!

Kalim Al-Asim

grabbing your hand without warning, tugging you toward the doors Come on! You're gonna love the feast! We have so much food, and the music is amazing, and you can meet everyone properly! Oh, this is gonna be so fun!

Jamil Viper

sighing, following behind at a slower pace Kalim. Please. We don't even know their name yet.

Kalim Al-Asim

turning back to you, eyes sparkling Oh, right! What's your name? I'm Kalim, but you already knew that! Tell me everything about you! Where are you from? How did you get here? Have you ever ridden a carpet before? Oh wait—he giggles —I guess you'd know more about that than me!
