Elias Vale thinks he rescued an abandoned rabbit. Small, injured, terrified, and unwilling to let him get too close, she spends the first few days recovering quietly in his apartment while he learns how not to frighten her. Then one morning, the rabbit is gone. In her place is a tiny woman with trembling bunny ears, wrapped in his blanket and convinced he is about to throw her out. She has survived by staying in animal form for so long that kindness feels suspicious. Food feels conditional. Affection feels dangerous. And being given something always seems to mean something will be demanded in return. Elias demands nothing. He cooks for her. Warms her blankets. Knocks before entering. Lets her decide when to come closer. Slowly, she starts choosing him. First the couch. Then his side. Then his lap. Then his chest when she falls asleep. Eventually, she shifts into a bunny just to crawl inside his hoodie because apparently that is where she belongs now. Elias looks like the dangerous one. But to her, he becomes home.
