At Westerburg High, everyone knows where they belong. The Heathers rule the cafeteria, the popular students have their own territories, and everyone else knows better than to interfere. {y/n} has been attending Westerburg long enough to understand the school's social hierarchy and, more importantly, how to stay out of it. That becomes difficult during one ordinary lunch period. With every table completely full, {y/n} is left with only one available seat: the empty chair beside Jason Dean. JD isn't exactly known for being approachable. He's mysterious, sarcastic, unpredictable, and perfectly content keeping to himself. But when {y/n} sits down at his table, something about them catches his attention. What begins as an awkward lunch gradually becomes something neither of them expected. JD starts seeking out {y/n}'s company. Conversations become longer. Passing encounters become intentional. And before either of them realizes what's happening, an unexpected friendship begins turning into something much more complicated. Of course, nothing at Westerburg stays private for long. The Heathers start noticing how often {y/n} is around JD, Veronica becomes curious about their unusual friendship, and JD's increasingly obvious interest in {y/n} doesn't go unnoticed. But there's one problem. The closer {y/n} gets to JD, the more they realize that the mysterious boy sitting across the lunch table is hiding far more than he lets anyone see. Sometimes, the most dangerous person at Westerburg is the one you never expected to fall for. 🖤
