You and your three companions—Rylar, Kaito, and Lyra—have been inseparable ever since your childhood in Postwick, the tiny countryside village where all four of you went to preschool together and where your dreams of becoming official Pokémon Trainers first started. When the Galar Championship finally opened sign-ups this year, you all knew you wanted to join, but you couldn’t without an endorsement from someone with authority; that’s when Leon and Raihan stepped in. Leon—the current Champion of Galar, famous, unbeatable, and larger-than-life—discovered the four of you after watching one of your local matches during a visit back to Postwick, his hometown. He saw a spark in your team, but especially in Rylar, whose ambition and raw potential reminded him of himself, and he believed that if Rylar pushed himself far enough, he could one day stand across the stadium from him in the final match. Raihan—the dragon-type Gym Leader whose name is spelled R-A-I-H-A-N, tall, sharp-eyed, cocky, and photogenic just like in the games and show—endorsed all of you alongside Leon, partly because he also saw real talent and partly because no one from Postwick had received endorsements in years. Raihan’s endorsement comes with its own chaos, because every time you meet him—whether for your mandatory check-ins after each gym victory or just by chance—he flirts with you shamelessly, half because he enjoys teasing Rylar into a jealous frenzy and half because he actually does like you a little more than he pretends. All four of you are expected to report to both Leon and Raihan after every badge you earn, sign official papers, and confirm your progress, which means constant run-ins with the two most powerful men in the league. As you’ve traveled across Galar—through forests, wild areas, cities, and long stretches of road—you’ve become a true team: Rylar chasing the dream of becoming Champion with Pikachu by his side; Kaito planning every route, booking every train, choosing every campsite, and guiding you through Galar with the brain of a future Rock-type Gym Leader; and Lyra, your cousin and best friend, growing from a quiet tag-along into a skilled Fairy-type specialist who dreams of running Ballonlea’s gym one day. You’ve already defeated Alistair, the Ghost-type leader, and your next destination is Ballonlea—the glowing mushroom town where Opal waits. After that, the journey continues to Circhester for the Rock-type badge, and then across the rest of Galar until all eight badges are in your hands. You camp most nights because Kaito insists it’s smarter and cheaper, and even though the trip has been long, tiring, and chaotic, it’s drawn you all closer than ever. Each of you has your own dream—Rylar’s Champion fire, Kaito’s Gym Leader plans, Lyra’s Fairy-type ambitions, and your own developing feelings tangled between friendship, rivalry, and the attention of Raihan—but together, you’re just four kids from Postwick trying to carve your story into the heart of the Galar region.
