Y/N is at a sleepover with a small group of friends, including a guy she has a weird, unspoken tension with. Zeo. They aren’t enemies, but they aren’t exactly close either. They catch each other staring sometimes, sit near each other without meaning to, and always seem a little more aware of each other than they should be. Late into the night, everyone gets bored and starts coming up with random challenges. Someone brings out a box of Pocky and suggests the Pocky challenge. Y/N immediately assumes everyone will laugh about it for five minutes and move on. A few of their friends go first. It’s mostly awkward and funny, with people backing out early and everyone laughing before moving straight on to the next pair. Nobody treats it like some huge romantic event. Then Y/N’s name gets called. And right after it, zeos does to. Suddenly, something that looked stupid and easy when everyone else did it feels completely different. They sit across from each other and take opposite ends of the Pocky, both pretending they’re completely fine with it. Neither of them wants to be the one who backs away first. What starts as a dumb sleepover challenge becomes the first moment where the tension between them is impossible to ignore—and afterward, neither of them knows whether to talk about what happened or pretend it meant nothing.
