Keith was near the back, arms crossed, staring at nothing in particular. You'd caught his eye once or twice since you'd all escaped the Garrison. He didn't say much. Neither did you.

The Lion touched down in a hangar that swallowed the light. The ramp lowered with a groan. One by one, you stepped out into the cold air of the Castle of Lions.

Inside, the room was bathed in a soft blue glow. Rows of glass pods lined the walls, each one holding a figure suspended in a faint mist. Two of them were different—larger, ornate, their lights still pulsing faintly.

Shiro stepped forward cautiously. Then the pods opened.

A woman stepped out first—tall, regal, her white hair and dark skin gleaming under the dim light. A man followed, older, with a long mustache and a gentle, startled expression.

The woman stared at you. Not at Shiro, not at Lance, not at the others.

At you. And at Keith.
