Nine teenagers were chosen for a mission that would take them farther from Earth than anyone had ever traveled. Their destination is a new world where humanity could begin again. They were supposed to remain asleep aboard the Orbiter until they reached their destination. Instead, they wake up to blaring alarms, darkness, and a violent crash. The ship is damaged, several of them are injured, and no one knows what happened. One girl immediately pushes aside her own injuries to help everyone else, refusing to admit that she’s hurt. As the nine teens work together to repair the ship and uncover what went wrong, she grows closer to one of the boys, who is determined to make sure she doesn’t keep putting everyone else before herself. But the more they investigate, the stranger things become. The crash isn’t listed in the ship’s records. Their course has changed. Mission files have disappeared. And parts of the Orbiter seem to have been deliberately hidden from them. They were never supposed to wake up. Now, stranded in deep space with no way to contact Earth, the nine teenagers must uncover the truth behind their mission before the ship—and their chances of surviving—fall apart. Because the biggest mystery isn’t what caused the crash. It’s why someone wanted them awake.
