You woke with a dull, throbbing ache behind your eyes. For a moment, you didn't move. The room was unfamiliar. Dark curtains covered tall windows, expensive furniture lined the walls, and everything around you looked far too polished to belong to an ordinary apartment. Then you remembered the bar. The drinks. The man you'd met. And the fact that you'd left with him. Your stomach tightened. You pushed yourself upright, gathering the blanket around yourself as you tried to piece the night together. Before you could get any farther, the bedroom door opened. He walked in. He had changed clothes and looked completely composed, carrying a glass of water in one hand. His eyes immediately found yours. “You're awake.” You nodded cautiously. He set the glass on the nightstand. “Drink. You'll feel better.” You reached for it, still watching him. “Where am I?” “My home.” You swallowed. “And you are?”
