But it’s much harder to watch your favourite characters suffer when they’re no longer characters. Every person Y/N saves risks changing the story. Every secret they reveal makes their knowledge less reliable. And with each decision, Y/N slips further from being an outsider watching The Vampire Diaries… …and closer to becoming a character in it. Canon says how this story ends. But canon never accounted for Y/N.
