Hogwarts has reopened its doors to a new kind of student. Years after the war, the castle now offers an advanced magical studies program for adult witches and wizards who want to specialize in difficult branches of magic. Y/N expects a year of brutal coursework, late nights in the library, and perhaps finally figuring out what she wants to do with her life. She does not expect Professors Malfoy and Nott. Professor Draco Malfoy teaches Advanced Potions with immaculate robes, impossible standards, and a tongue sharp enough to draw blood. He barely tolerates his students, gives praise as though it physically pains him, and somehow always notices when Y/N stays late after class. Professor Theodore Nott teaches Ancient Magic and Magical Theory. Quiet, brilliant, and far more dangerous than his easy smirk suggests, Theo prefers teasing his students to terrifying them. Especially Y/N. At first, it’s harmless. A lingering conversation after class. A book Theo leaves on Y/N’s desk because he “thought she might appreciate it.” Draco silently replacing the ruined ingredient she can’t afford. Arguments in corridors that suddenly become too quiet when Y/N approaches. Then Y/N realizes something strange. Professor Malfoy seems particularly irritated whenever Professor Nott helps her. Professor Nott seems particularly entertained whenever Draco assigns her detention. And apparently half of Hogwarts has already figured out what Y/N hasn’t: The two professors are jealous. Of each other. Over her. Neither man is supposed to want her. Y/N is their student, and Hogwarts has very clear rules regarding relationships between professors and anyone currently under their academic authority. Draco knows it. Theo knows it. Y/N knows it. Knowing, unfortunately, does absolutely nothing to stop the stolen glances, increasingly unnecessary office hours, accidental touches, or the unbearable tension growing between all three of them.
