The story follows Bear (Michael Johnston), a timid, brooding "nice guy" who works at a family-owned music store. He has harbored a massive, consuming crush for over seven years on his childhood friend and coworker, Nikki (Inde Navarrette). Too terrified of rejection to ever confess his feelings normally, Bear's desperation peaks one night. While shopping at a quirky, occultic New Age shop, he buys a cheap novelty item for $6.99 called the "One Wish Willow."
