Y/N should hate everything about Voldemort’s world. Her family was destroyed by the war when she was young, leaving behind only fragments of the her name and a girl who learned very quickly how to survive around dangerous people without ever truly becoming one of them. She never takes the Dark Mark. Never asks to join the Death Eaters. And somehow, despite every reason he should ignore her completely, Voldemort becomes strangely fond of her anyway. Not in a soft way. Not in a normal way. More like: Y/N is one of the only people alive who speaks to the Dark Lord without sounding terrified of him, and Voldemort finds that endlessly interesting. Now Y/N spends most of her time caught between the deeply dysfunctional circle of young Death Eaters surrounding Voldemort and the increasingly unsettling realization that the Dark Lord has begun noticing something she desperately hoped nobody else would: whatever strange thing is happening between her and Draco Malfoy. And unfortunately for both of them, Voldemort appears quietly invested in finding out where it goes.
